bijou no.1 is a part of a series of visual research of the author Raffo. These researches are on the base of semi-science and semi-pop culture, which have major elements an inorganic compounds such as sulfate SO4, sodium chloride (NaCl), Potassium ferrocyanide, etc. The main concept of the author is to make a crystal grow up on a different surface of objects with some meaning in history. One of the first objects was Venus de Milo, which was previously split into two pieces in a 3d software and printed with a 3d printer. These indirect processes of a 3d printing and growing crystals in a chemical solution are acts on purposely of a tactile distance between the author and the object. In the most common light, Raffò is producing his art in a very direct and tactile way, penetrating and shaping the materials into forms, but in these objects, the patience and the physical distance are giving it's way to an intellectual play which brought him to these specific objects. Military and political medals, coins and old keys and other parts of the objects which were submerged for weeks and months into a different chemical solution and as a result after cleaning the object we're looking like a weird pop-art bijou
